To accompany my Xbox 360 I have decided to get a HDTV.

After much pondering the different makes and models I decided that
both plasma and LCD are a compromise. Whenever I watch a 'normal' TV
programme, TiVo, DVD, etc. on them the image will be soft because the
LCD isn't running at its native resolution plus one also gets contrast
ratio issues and viewing angle problems.

Rear projection doesn't turn me on either.

So: I'm going to purchase a 32" WS *CRT* HDTV instead for upstairs.

Samsung does a model with reasonable reviews for £369 which is only
£70 more than I paid for my current 32" WS CRT I have next to me since
four years ago

A *reasonable* quality 32" LCD/Plasma would cost WAAAY more than that.

Sometimes I turn the colour right down on my TV so I can pretend I'm
watching an old film.

If I put the subtitles on and turn the sound off it's like a silent
movie!

You can have lots of fun with the TV you already own.

But that bit at the back always gets dusty.

Or so I've found.

By a new telly and it won't have dust on.

Or hire a cleaner.

Or clean it yourself.

These are some of my thoughts on television.

Quite interesting, I'm sure you'd agree.

If I buy a new TV then I can host tea parties with my old TV and it
can still gather dust.

I know this is a *little* late, but ....

CRTs are better than current flat screens for a whole world of
reasons, especially if are planning on watching any 'normal' telly -
Freeview in particular.

Well done, get it. Or, as I am a month late, got it.
